Today I am showing some love for the well-loved MEANT TO BE STAMP SET and a fun ombre style #simplestamping technique using three colours from our BRIGHTS collection


Creating my own background designs for my cards has always been one of my favourite things to do and it's a great way to add your own style with colours and patterns.  For this card I have used two heart images from the MEANT TO BE STAMP SET and stamped in an ombre style, starting with the darkest colour at the top and moving down to the lightest.

STAMPERS SHOWCASE JANUARY IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE, BABY BLOG HOP

Today I am sharing a card that I have designed for the January Global Stampers Showcase Blog Hop which is all about love, baby!


For my card design, I have used one of my favourite colour combinations, Monochrome with a splash of pink!



I am a BIG fan of stripes in my life and I keep seeing this background technique all over social media so I've finally given it a go!  There is even a tutorial for to you watch below!

I really enjoyed the simplicity of putting the background together; I have used strips of BASIC BLACK and BASIC WHITE CARDSTOCK and added the die-cut heart from the STITCHED BE MINE DIES that I have raised slightly with STAMPIN' DIMENSIONALS. 





For the sentiment, I have cut a banner of BASIC WHITE CARDSTOCK and then used the PLAYFUL ALPHABET DIES to cut out the word love.  

"You" has been heat embossed onto BASIC BLACK CARDSTOCK using WHITE STAMPIN' EMBOSS POWDER. 


I love the simplicity of this card design and I think the bold colours work really well together.

DARLING DONKEYS FOR THE GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT

Hello and welcome to my blog wherever you are in the world today, 


For this week's Global Design Project challenge I have made this super cute card using the Darling Donkey's Stamp Set that you can have for FREE from January 2021 as part of the Sale-a-Bration promotion!




This week's challenge is based on a card sketch (see below) which is always one of my favourite challenges as it is wide open for interpretation, and I have felt very inspired by creations from the design team.  
For my design, I have kept the design quite simple with a background of white as I really wanted the cute little donkey to stand out, which I think he does.  

To create the donkey, I have stamped the image onto Whisper White Cardstock using a Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad and coloured with a selection of Stampin' Blends Pens (colours listed below).  I have only added a small outline of ink as I didn't want to overwhelm the look. 

Donkey outline - Smoky Slate, light and dark, blended with the Color Lifter
Donkey hair, tip of tail and hooves - Smoky Slate dark
Donkey ears - Petal Pink light
Donkey nose - Gray Granite light
Flower - Rococo Rose light and Old Olive light




For the extra detail, I have added a die-cut heart shape that I have cut from the Stitched Be Mine Dies, and fussy cut flowers from another FREE Sale-a-Bration product, the Paper Blooms Designer Series Papers.  

The sentiment comes from the Darling Donkeys Stamp Set, and for added detail I have heat-embossed one of them onto Basic Gray Cardstock using White Stampin Emboss Powder


I think this card would be perfect for Valentine's Day, or just to let someone know you are thinking of them.
