GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #278 SKETCH CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome to my blog today,

Today I am sharing a card design that I have created for this weeks GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT which is all about a sketch!  I have used the HEY GIRLFRIEND STAMP SET to create my card design and a simple water colouring technique using our fab WATER PAINTERS.

A sketch is a great starting point for any card design and there are some wonderful takes on this sketch over at this week's challene post.  Click the link below to have a look and of course enter if you wish. 

For my design, I have started by creating my stripes using a WATER PAINTER and some BUMBLEBEE INK.  I have used SHIMMERY WHITE CARDSTOCK for this which is a really smooth paper that works well for watercolouring. Once dry, I have added to my cardfront and added a splash of black ink from a BASIC BLACK STAMPIN WRITE MARKER.  This just helps to break up the background and add another layer of colour. 

I have added a GOLD HOOP EMBELLISHMENT to the card using MINI GLUE DOTS.  

My main image comes from the HEY GIRLFRIEND STAMP SET which I have stamped onto BASIC WHITE CARDSTOCK with TUXEDO BLACK MEMENTO INK PAD, and coloured with a selection of STAMPIN' BLENDS.  I have trimmed around the image leaving a small border of white and added her to my card over the GOLD HOOP. 

The sentiment also comes from the HEY GIRLFRIEND STAMP SET and I have added this to my card with some heat embossing onto BASIC BLACK CARDSTOCK and WHITE STAMPIN EMBOSS POWDER.  

To finish, I have added some die-cut flowers from the ALWAYS DIES with some BUMBLEBEE coloured enamel dots.
