Granny Apple Green meets Butterfly Gala...

in , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrator, March 08, 2019
Hi all,

I didn't think Stampin' Up! could give us a better green than Old Olive until along comes Granny Apple Green!  It's bright, it's rich and it's just so versatile!  I have used it this month to colour in those gorgeous Frogs and now it's being used to create a butterfly themed card!

For this card base I have cut a piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock to measure 21cm x 14.9cm, scored and folded in half at 10.5cm.

The white strip across the middle of the card measures 2" x 14.9cm and has been stamped in Granny Apple Green ink and then attached onto the card front.  I have used Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive for this.

The black edging that you see is not a layer underneath the white strip, but instead two small strips of Basic Black Cardstock.

To create the sentiment, I have cut the circle shape using a die from the Stitched Labels Framelits Dies.  This has been attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to raise.

I have stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and before attaching to the card front, I have cut around the words.

The butterflies have been stamped using Granny Apple Green Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and punched out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.

I have used an Aqua Painter with some Granny Apple Green Ink to colour the butterflies in before attaching to the card front.

To finish, I have added some Glitter Enamel Dots.

As always I have added a bit of stamping to the envelope to tie this project all together!

Butterfly Gala Take Two...

in , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrator, March 07, 2019
Hi all,

As mentioned yesterday, today's cards will have the theme of butterflies!  I have created 4 cards in a set using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and Butterfly Duet Punch, both of which completely SOLD OUT within the first 2 months of being available in the UK, WOW!

Today's card is using shades and textures of the scrummy Coastal Cabana colour that features in our Brights Collection.  This colour, for some reason, always makes me think of the seaside and makes me feel happy!

I have used Thick A4 Whisper White Cardstock to create the cardbase which measures 10.5cm x 30cm and scored at 15cm.  I have added a top layer of Coastal Cabana Cardstock and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the sentiment feature, I have cut a selection of circles using circle punches, and the sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed.  This sentiment is part of the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and I think it is such a nice way to let someone know you appreciate them.

For the butterflies, I have stamped two sets of each set, one using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and Coastal Cabana Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock.  The bodies have been stamped once punched out in Tuxedo Black Memento.

I have arranged the butterflies across the front of the card, stuck and then used Tuexdo Black Memento to stamp the antennae to finish.

For the insert of this card, I have cut the same size piece of Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and before attaching inside, I have used the Butterfly Duet Punch to cut out the two butterflies at the bottom right hand corner.  Once stuck in the card, I have used my Stamparatus Stampin' Platform to line up the butterfly image inside the apperture and used Tuxedo Black Memento to stamp the images.  Clever!

To finish this card, I have stamped a small butterfly onto the envelope in the matching colour combination!

This week is butterfly week...

in , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrator, March 06, 2019
Hi all,

This months card class is all about Butterflies and we had lots of fun making a set of 4 cards using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch  which has proved so popular they sold out in under 2 months WOW! I loved these cards when I put them together, a few of my ladies own the set and we had a great class!

The first card that I am showing you today is the Melon Mambo theme card, which is my personal favourite from the set...
Starting with a standard C6 cardbase Measuring 10.5cm x 30cm and folded in half. I have used Thick Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the butterfly image across the card front in Melon Manbo. I have then cut a circle out of the card front using the 2.5” Circle Punch.

For the sentiment, I have cut a strip of Whisper White Cardstock and attached across the front of the card. Onto Basic Black Cardstock I have stamped the sentiment in Versamark and Heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool.  I have cut the words into tiles individually and attached to the strip.

Inside, I have layered together 3 punched Shapes using the 2.5” Circle Punch, Starburst Punch and 2” Circle Punch.  I have attached these to the cardbase so that they sit inside the circle that I have punched out of the cardfront when closed, CLEVER!

For the edging I have used the bottom two wings of the small butterfly infill stamp to stamp off the edge of each vertical edge and around the Whisper White circle that I have punched out.  The butterfly on the circle is the same image as the one I have stamped on the card front however I have coloured parts of it in using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.  This has been punched out and attached to the card just with the body so that the wings move.

To finish, I have added a few Melon Mambo coloured Glitter Enamel Dot on the card front and inside.

To finish this lovely bright card of course I have stamped the envelope so that it matches! This is a lovely little addition to your handmade cards and it’s nice to receive an envelope where you know the card inside is extra special
