Two cards and a very clever technique for this Birthday card...

Hi all,

I have two cards for you today, how exciting!!  Following on from yesterdays post, I have mixed it up a bit and given you two new cards in the same style and a fab technique!

Starting with the Night of Navy card.  I originally saw this technique from Emma Goddard, one of our amazing Artisan Design Team!  When I first saw Emma's card I was puzzled thinking how on earth did she get the colours to be so bright on Night of Navy cardstock but I soon discovered the fab technique really wasn't so complicated!

The flower...has been stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, and then the background has been coloured in with the Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend!   How clever is that!!

The leaf and the stem of the flower has been added after to make it hang over the square layer that has been coloured...another clever technique!

"Happy" has been heat-embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and "wishes" has been die-cut from Whisper White Cardstock using the Well Said Framelits!

Card number 2 is different style of this card, and I really like how clean and simple it looks.
This time, I have heat-embossed the flower image using White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured in with Stampin' Blends.  This technique I think is really subtle but so effective!  "Happy Birthday" comes from the "You're Inspiring" stamp set and has been stamped using a Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.  I have added the line around the square aperture using a Basic Black Stampin' Marker.

Now for the important question....Which card is your favourite?????
