Farewell to the Family and Friends stamp set....

in , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrator, May 01, 2019
Hi all,

Today I am sharing with you a really simple card that I have made using the Family and Friends Stamp Set.  This stamp set features in our Spring/Summer Catalogue and sadly it will not be carrying over into the new 2019/20 Annual Catalogue that launches in June.

I am a BIG fan of this stamp set, and when I saw it some months ago I had to have it and I have loved creating special projects and making all the little characters come alive.  It will be one that remains on my stamp shelf as it is really useful for creating personal images for cards, scrapbooks, notebooks, anything really!

Today's card uses a Whisper White layer of cardstock measuring 10cm x 14.4cm that has been attached to a standard C6 cardbase that has been cut from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock.

I have used Clear Block C to create the block of colour you see behind the image.  For this I have pressed the block into the Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Pad so that the whole block is covered with ink.  I have added water to the ink on the block with a Stampin' Spritzer and then laid the block onto the white cardstock and pressed down gently.  After a few minutes, I have lifted the block off the cardstock and it has left this block of colour.  This is a really clever technique when you want to add a block of colour and one that I am using more and more frequently in my crafting!

Onto a seperate piece of Whisper White Cardstock I have stamped the individual parts to create the person, coloured with Stampin' Blends and then cut out and attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionsals.

To finish, I have added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment which is part of the stamp set.

I will be re-creating this design over on Facebook at 9.30am this morning to show you just how easy and fun this stamp set is to use! Click on the Facebook icon below to  go straight to my Facebook page.

If you have it on your wishlist then this stamp set will only be available while stocks last until 3rd June 2019 so be quick if you don't want to miss out!

And last but not least is card number 4...

Hi all,

This week I have been showcasing the cards that I put together for my monthly card class ladies using the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch

The final card that I am sharing today is made using one of the two new gorgeous shades of purple, Gorgeous Grape.

I have started with a standard card base that has been cut from Gorgeous Grape A4 Cardstock.  Onto the front, I have used the small infill butterfly stamp, and stamped onto the top section of the card using Gorgeous Grape Ink.

I have cut a 2.5" square piece of Shimmer White A4 Cardstock and used an Acryllic Block with ink and water to stamp directly onto the cardstock.  Block stamping is a great way of getting another shade of the colour and it's lots of fun to create aswell!

Once this has dried, I have attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and added a butterfly that has been stamped and cut out with the coordinating punch.

The sentiment has been stamped directly onto the card front using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and I have added a few Glitter Enamel Dots to finish.

The idea behind these cards is to create a set of notecards that you could give to someone as a gift, or just because!  I have created a belly-band using Basic Black Cardstock that has been folded loosely around the bundle of cards, and secured using Tear and Tape.  I have added a strip of Whisper White Cardstock that has been stamped with the sentiment and I have added a selection of the butterflies to match the colour theme of the cards.

What do you think?  Now you have seen all 4 cards, which one is your favourite?

Hi all,

I often find male cards quite challenging to put together, much like many other crafters I know.  Now that we have the Family and Friends Stamp Set I have enjoyed putting together more personal male cards to mark a number of occasions.

This birthday card has been put together using some block stamping to create the block of colour that you see behind the character.  For this, take an acryllic block, add ink from a Classic Stampin' Pad and then spritz with a Stampin' Spritzer.  Place the block onto the card, push down gently so that the ink spreads out, leave for a few minutes and then remove the block.

On this card, I have used an Aqua Painter with a lighter ink pad to draw a line around the block to soften the colour.

I have created the character using the Family and Friends Stamp Set, coloured in with Stampin' Blends, cut out and then attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to raise.

The sentiment comes from the Amazing Life Stamp Set and I have used Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad for this.
