HOW TO MAKE A SLIDER GATE FOLD CARD DESIGN WITH A FREE TUTORIAL

by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, December 13, 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog today!

I have a really fun and exciting project to share with you today and what's even better is that it includes a FREE Tutorial and step-by-step video!

I was having a browse on Pinterest the other night (like you do) and came across this Slider Gate Fold Card Design that I have adapted into UK friendly measurements and added some Stampin' Up! flair to it.

Gate Folds were one of the first "alternative" style card designs that I learnt to make, and have made lots of variations over the years but this one is really clever and I think you are going to really like it!

Rather than the front decorated piece being attached to one of the panels, or being on a belly-band, it appears to just float on the front....but you can remove it entirely!

I have chosen to decorate both card designs using flowers (I'm willing it to be spring!) that I have cut from the Paper Florist Dies.  I held off from buying these but have seen them used EVERYWHERE and after a quick play, I am hooked!

The Paper Florist Dies are a timeless set of dies that create a whole variety of different flowers so I thoroughly recommend adding them to your wish lists.

If you would like to have a go at making this card, I have included a free PDF measurement guide and Youtube video below.

If you don't own the Scalloped Contours Dies that I have used to create the slider mechanism, you can use a different die as long as it is symmetrical!
