GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP397

by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, June 05, 2023

Hello and a very special welcome to you today wherever you are in the world!

I was lucky to win a recent Global Design project Challenge a few weeks ago and I'm super excited to share my post with you today, as Guest Designer for this amazingly talented group of Demonstrators!

Colour challenges are always really fun to take part in and the colours in this weeks' challenge are a mix of old and new, 2 of which I haven't used yet so it was really fun for me to be a little creative and make something to share with you all.
These colours were quite different to my "comfort" colours and I have used them in a way that I hope inspires your creativity this week.

I have put my card together using mostly shades of ink and a mix of Classic Stampin' Pads and Stampin' Blends as this is a great way to achieve different tones of the same colour.  For those of you who follow me already will know that I love a cutesy image and I love to colour so I couldn't not do that this week.

To achieve the background strips of colour, I have simply stamped my ink pad onto the edge of a piece of white card, and trimmed it down into a strip.  This is such a fun technique and, depending on how "juicy" your ink pad is, you will get a different look everytime!

I'm also super thrifty with my coloured card (some habits just never die!) and this is a great way to save that coloured card but still achieve a "coloured card" look.

"Celebrate" comes from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set and this has been cut out using the coordinating circle punch.

I have used the Bird's Eye View Stamp Set for the little bird image which has been stamped in Memento Ink and coloured with Berry Burst and Azure Afternoon Stampin' Blends markers.  To achieve the lighter areas, I have used the best tool ever...the color lifter pen!

And to finish the card off, I have added a hand drawn line around the edge of the white card layer and a few of the "Tinsel Gems" for a touch of sparkle and texture.

I hope you enjoyed my post today, and I do hope you will take part in this week's challenge.  Simply click the image below to return to the original Global Design Project entry page.  I can't wait to see what you make!
