I HAD THE BEST DAY AT MY FRIDAY NIGHT COLOURING CLASS

Hello and welcome to a new blog post from me, which features all the details from my recent Friday Night Colouring Class, a brand new class for 2023 that took place last week on Zoom!

I am a huge fan of the stamp sets that you can colour, and I am often asked for tips on how I colour my images in, and use them in my papercrafts.  I have run a few classes before and so when I was evaluating what classes to offer in 2023, this was high on my list to put together and will be taking place as a "Friday Night Colouring Class" on specific dates throughout the year online so that you can join in wherever you!

The first class took place on Friday 20th January and I chose the Best Day Stamp Set as my featured stamp set for the class.  This stamp set is super cute, and features in the January to April Mini Catalogue, and I have shared a number of different projects with it already. 

Within the class, I shared the three card designs shown below with a number of different colouring techniques using Stampin' Blends Alcohol Marker pens, and even a bit of paper piecing with the gorgeous Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper that is currently free with a £90 order until the end of February (or until stocks last!).  

For the first card, I kept the design simple with the addition of a scalloped rectangle die-cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies, and showed how to create depth within your colouring, and on the actual card by cutting the image and layering with Stampin' Dimensionals.  

Card number 2 features some partial stamping, a great technique for changing the way the image looks, and rather than colouring the image, I have added the colour to the background of the circles to create a different look. 

I do love using lots of white space in my designs, and on this card I have added black dots using the fine brush end of the Basic Black Stampin' Blend pen, and my favourite black doodle line using a black fine line pen (a must have in my craft stash!)

And for the final card, I have used the gorgeous cake image, and shared how to create a ombre effect on the word "happy", and if you look closely some paper piecing on the Birthday banner, and plate!
