HELLO LADYBUG TEAM EVENT

by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, April 24, 2022

Today I am sharing a set of cards that I created for a Spring themed team event using the Hello Ladybug Bundle, and other products from the January to June Mini Catalogue.  For the first time, this event was open to Demonstrators outside of my team, and it was great to be able to spend some creative time together.  I'm super proud of my Stampin' Stars team, especially how friendly they are with new people!

I chose the Hello Ladybug Bundle as it is super cute, and a few of my team had mentioned they had bought it but wasn't sure how they could get the most out of it, so I saw that as a bit of a challenge!  I matched the bundle with the Artfully Composed Suite and the colours just worked so well!

I couldn't create a set of cards without using the Picture This Dies and it was a great starting point for this class!

For the ladybugs, I staryed away from the usual bright red for the minibeasts and created them with Basic Black for the body, and Calypso Coral for the wings.  I love how well this softer colour worked with the colours in the Artfully Composed Designer Series Papers too!

The next card uses images from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Papers and I paired them with the Medium Daisy Punch to create the background.

Cut from Basic White Card, I have layered 2 daisies together and added some doodling for the centres using a black fineliner pen.

I love how the pop of Calypso Coral from the ladybug against the subtle colours used on this one.

There isn't a ladybug in sight for the third card and that's because I wanted to show how versatile this set is!  I have paired the leaf from the Hello Ladybug Bundle here with the Biggest Wish Stamp Set and some neutral colours.

I have used repetitive stamping for the background here using Crumb Cake Ink on Crumb Cake Card; a technique that I often forget to use with using the same colour card and ink together.

This was one of the most popular cards in the set on the day, and I think it's one of my favourites too!  Did anyone else see Bumblebees with this set??  And the Hive 3D Embossing Folder just had to be paired with this card!  I have used a really fun technique using ink on an embossing folder to create the beehive style background layer.

The Bumblebees have been created using the Ladybug Builder Punch for the body, and I have added 1/4" strips of So Saffron Cardstock layered across.  The wings have been cut from Vellum and I think they look super cute!

The fifth card is actually my favourite, and it has a fun element to it...it's actually a gift card holder!

Rather than being designed to stand up, I have created a folder element whereby it opens up and has an internal pocket for you to add a gift card too.

The pattern on the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper really works with this card design, and just look at that colour pop from the Calypso Coral Ladybug!  I have added some stamped flowers in the same colour this time.

Finally, the last card is definitely the most advanced of the set, and it has a surprise element too!  I keep seeing this design on Pinterest and Instagram, and thanks to Lisa Curcio in the USA, I was able to adapt this pull out and pop up card style in UK measurements and decorate with the Hello Ladybug Bundle!

The pull and pop up element of this card was lots of fun to share with the team, and they all enjoyed styling it in their own way too.

Rather than creating the Ladybugs solely with the Ladybug Builder Punch, I have focussed more on stamped images from the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set, particularly the ones that haven't been used so far in the card designs.

I love how the cards all work together as a set, and I think that is largely down to the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper!
