Today I am hopping around the world for the November Stampers Showcase Blog Hop and I am sharing a selection of cards that I have designed with the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set and Deer Builder Punch Bundle. This is one of the popular bundles from the August to December Mini Catalogue that is carrying over into future catalogue
I'm sure it will come as no surprise that this month's theme is Winter / Holidays and with the festive season just 2 days away I'm sure today's hop will prove a very useful source of creative inspiration for you!
To work your way around the hop, click the "next" image further down this post to move forward and then repeat on the next person's post....carry on until you get back to where you started!
So...onto my card designs today....
The first card design is simple and fun design to use when you want to add something a little interactive into your cards; a simple aperture frame! I have created this frame with the Layering Circle Dies and I have kept the colour palette super neutral here with some black & white dotty patterned paper.
Creating this aperture frame means that the decoration can go on the inside of your card and adding an extra dimension to your cards.
For this card, the deer has been created by simply cutting a piece of Sahara Sand Card with the Deer Builder Punch.
So what do you do with the circle that you cut out of the card front? Use it for another project of course!
For card design number 2 in today's set I have used a bit of texture embossing to create the background on the card with the Macrame Embossing Folder, however I have used the de-bossed side rather than the raised embossed side. I love that there are 2 sides to your embossing and you get a different look and feel with them both.
For the main decoration I have layered up the circle from the first card, along with a white tag cut from the Tailor Made Tags Dies and added my Deer. To create the deer, this time I have stamped the Deer with a Crumb Cake Classic Stampin Pad onto Sahara Sand Card and cut out with the Deer Builder Punch. This brings in extra detail to the image with the stamping, and doesn't she look elegant?
To finish, I have added some more texture to the card with a bow of Linen Thread tied through the Tag, and some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.
And now for the 3rd and final card design, something with a bit of WOW I think!
For this card, I wanted to create the illusion of a Christmassy woodland scene which this stamp set is just perfect for with the addition of the trees images.
Starting with a layer of Sahara Sand Card, I have used a to stamp a selection of trees with both 1st & 2nd generation stamping. To mute these colours even further, I have added a layer of Vellum over the top and attached it to the card front which I have added some heat embossed snowflakes to beforehand using White Stampin' Emboss Powder. .
I have added the die-cut trees behind and added a bow tied with the black & white bakers twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
