GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #309 COLOUR CHALLENGE

by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, September 15, 2021

It's been a while since my last post, life has been busy getting the children back to school, starting a new job myself and holding my first ever retreat last weekend but today I am sharing a really vibrant card that I have made for this weeks Global Design Project Colour Challenge.

This week's challenge SCREAMED at me as I do love the monochrome style.  I got to choose an additional colour to add and for me POLISHED PINK is just awesome with black and white designs!

Click the Global Design Project banner below to see the other entries this week and you can also take part yourself!

I have started my card by creating the watercolour background of the vibrant Polished Pink colour.  I have done this by adding diluted ink with a Water Painter to Shimmery White Cardstock.  Between each layer of colour I have dried the ink with a Heat Tool.  This way you build up depth within your watercolour image and it gives it a more textured look.

For my decoration on my card, I have added a stamped and die-cut image from the Whimsical Trees BundleI didn't want to take too much focus away from the watercoloured area so the baubles are the perfect choice!

To finish, I have added a heat embossed sentiment from the Heartfelt Wishes Stamp Set that I have heat embossed in white onto Basic Black Cardstock.

I created this card during a Facebook Live demonstration which is now available on my Youtube channel!  Click the image below to watch online, and don't forget to subscribe to see future demonstrations and tutorials from me.

I'm often asked what tools do I use...well here are the basic tools that I simply couldn't craft without!

  1. The colour challenge is a way of forcing people to think about colour. It’s a fun way of getting people involved in a conversation about colour and how it relates to people and their lives. But here you can check https://www.essaywritinglab.co.uk/dissertation/ to get more ideas for your task. It’s a great way of having a conversation about colour without just talking about colour.
