VINTAGE STRAWBERRIES ANYONE?

by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, April 10, 2021

As you know I waited a while to jump onto the Sweet Strawberry train but I am so glad that I did!  I have loved having a really good play with this set and creating lots of different styles and designs.

For today's design, I have created a vintage / distressed style card using the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and the gorgeous new Blending Brushes from the January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue

I started with a piece of Basic White Card, and I have stamped the strawberry images across is using Real Red for the outline, and Poppy Parade Ink for the infill part.  The strawberry tops have been stamped with Old Olive ink for both the outline and infill parts.

Once dry, I have drawn around the edge of each strawberry with a light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends penThis is a great technique for adding a highlight to an image.

I have then used my Blending Brushfirst with Crumb Cake Ink and then with Soft Suede ink to change the colour of the background.  I have added more ink around the edges so that you get the lighter highlight area in the middle.  I have then added a splash of ink using a Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends Pen

To finish, I have used a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends pen to draw over the strawberry seed detail on the berries.

The thing that I love most about the Blending Brushes is how smooth the ink looks when you have finished, and you get such a professional look to your work.

I didn't want to take any focus away from my ink blended piece, so I have added it to my card base with a very thin layer of Early Espresso Card underneath, added some Linen Thread and added my sentiment that I have stamped onto a small circle that I have die-cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies

This is a very different look that I have created with this Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and I love that it was so enjoyable to create.  The Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and Strawberry Builder Punch Bundle is available with 10% off until the end of June.
