Hello and welcome to my blog,
Today I am sharing with you a card that I have put together using the In The Woods Dies (from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue) and the Peace and Joy bundle from the August-December Mini Catalogue.
I have used a really fun watercolour technique to create the card that I have cut the tree from using the Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, green ink pads and our Water Painters. As well as adding layers of green ink, I have also added splashes of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and Whisper White Craft Ink.
Watercolouring is such a fun technique and it's a nice way to add other tones of colour and the Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper has a lovely texture to it as well.
I have added a layer of embossing to the card front using the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder which goes so nicely with the theme of this card. Before adding to the cardfront, I have cut out two little notches on either side of the card for the ribbon to sit in. I have used the Medium Daisy Punch to create these little notches!
The ribbon comes from the Trimming the Town Suite of products and I love the gold detail on the edges, perfect for this card and the accents of gold.
Onto the tree, I have "Joy" which has been die-cut from Gold Foil Sheets and a stamped sentiment from the Peace and Joy Stamp Set in Garden Green ink to match the layer of green cardstock under the embossed layer.
I love the simplicity of how this card looks but there has been alot of work gone into creating the watercolour card that the Christmas tree has been cut from! I have lots of watercolour card remaining so I will die-cut some more shapes to use on future cards!
If you would like to see exactly how I created this card, you can watch the tutorial below. I originally put this card together during a Facebook Live session so there is a little bit of interaction with people who commenting along.
