GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #253 COLOUR CHALLENGE WITH GORGEOUS POSIES

 Hello and welcome to my blog today,

Today's card has been created using the Gorgeous Posies Stamp Set and other products from the 2020-21 Annual Catalogue.  You can watch how I put this card together HERE

The colours I have chosen come from this week's Global Design Project, and are 3 colours that are quite unusual choices for me.  Colour challenges are a great way of starting a project and can quite often push  you out of your comfort zone to try something a little different.  Click the colours below to see more:

To create my card, I have stamped the main flower images using Bumblebee and Calypso Coral ink, adding in the dots with Tuxedo Black Memento.  I have then run the stamped cardstock through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  

Embossing is a great way of adding texture to your projects, and this embossing folder makes the cardstock look material-like and goes really well with this stamp set.  

I have cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to measure 10cm x 10cm, and cut diagonally in half.  I have added some splashes of ink using a Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Marker and attached to the card front. 

The additional flowers have been fussy-cut out and layered onto the diagonal edge with the leaves tucked under. 

I have added a heat-embossed sentiment onto Basic Black Cardstock using White Stampin' Emboss Powder, cut down into a banner and added to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  

For the card insert, I have added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 10cm x 14.4cm to strengthen the base.  The remaining diagonal piece of cardstock has been stamped in the same pattern as the card front and attached inside the card to bring it all together.
