It's great to be taking part in today's hop with some VERY talented papercrafters including the lovely
Rebecca-Jo Unwin in Australia who you may have visited before me...loved her project!
One of my favourite suites in the January - June Mini Catalogue is the Best Dressed suite which is very feminine and has the most beautiful Designer Series Papers that I have been using so much of!
The stamp set and dies will be carrying over into the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue but the papers will be retiring at the end of May. As I have used so much of these papers over the last few months, I only really have scraps left so for today's card I have shown you a great way to use up those scraps of DSP! I have demonstrated this Paper Piecing technique in detail on my Coffee and Card session filmed just before this blog hop went live today. You can watch the replay HERE
For the first card, I have used strips of the Best Dressed DSP cut into diagonal strips, layered onto the card front with a border of the card base underneath between. I actually thought the technique would be more complicated than it actually was so I will definitely be creating more cards like this in the future! I have layered onto the card front, a sentiment that has been stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock that I have die-cut out using one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The flowers have been fussy cut from another one of the DSP sheets and layered onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the second card, I have used a different Paper Piecing technique; this time with 2cm strips of the Best Dressed DSP, attached at repeating angles again with a border of white between. The sentiment that I have used also comes from the Peaceful Moments Cling Stamp Set that features in the January- June Mini Catalogue, and die-cut from the same dies as above. I have fussy cut more flowers from another piece of DSP and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Best Dressed DSP will not feature in the 2020/21 Annual Catalogue from June so they are currently only available to purchase while stocks last.
I hope you find my cards inspiring, if you click the NEXT button below, you will continue through the hop onto the very lovely Rochelle Laird Smith in Australia, and see what she has created for us.
