It's week number #047 on the Inspire.Create. Challenge and it's a sketch challenge! I always enjoy a sketch challenge as it makes me approach my cards very differently. Usually I pick a stamp set or suite of products to get me thinking!
The sketch for this challenge was really simple and it definitely made me use my brain! It was actually the scrap of DSP laying on my craft desk that made me choose to use the Sailing Home Stamp Set an I'm really pleased with how it came out!
My card is a standard C6 size folded in the landscape orientation. Before I have attached my piece of DSP (measuring 10cm x 14.4xcm) I have used the largest plain circle from the Layering Circle Dies to cut the aperture. I have laid this onto my card front, and using the next size down plain circle die, I have cut through the cardstock.
The sentiment has been stamped using Stazon Ink onto a piece of Vellum and I have stuck it between the cardstock and the DSP. I have used the same two circle dies to create a circle frame from Night of Navy Cardstock and attached it in the aperture.
Inside the card I have attached a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (measuring 10cm x 14.4cm). II have used Memento Ink to stamp the sailing boat image both onto the inside of the card and onto a seperate piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I have coloured the second image in with Stampin' Blends, cut out around the sailing boat only (not the water) and then attached over the top of the image inside the cardbase. For my colouring, I chose to use brighter colours than normal for this so that it showed through the Vellum. I have used Stampin' Dimensionals for this so that it is raised and adds to the effect.
To finish I have stamped some of the birds and flicked some ink across from a Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend.
I really enjoyed this sketch challenge and like I said, it definitely made me use my creative brain to come up with something a little different.
