Hi all,

Every year Stampin’ Up! run a Making a Difference campaign that supports local communities in need of support, and they encourage demonstrators to take part in a Day of  Service and there are usually a few every year that you can take part in if you wish.

The next Day of Service takes place on 15th May and Stampin’ Up! UK are supporting the Wycombe Homeless Connection.

At Wycombe Homeless Connection, we inspire hope and reignite ambitions by helping people understand their rights, find accommodation and keep their homes. Every working day, we provide advice and support to those facing homelessness at our support centre in High Wycombe. Every fortnight, we run legal drop-in sessions for those requiring legal aid to fight evictions. Every year, we run the Wycombe Winter Night Shelter, which acts as a life-saving measure for local rough sleepers by providing them temporary accommodation during Britain’s bleakest months. With the help of a small, dedicated team of staff and an army of local volunteers, we lead the fight against homelessness in High Wycombe.”

Stampin’ Up! will be supporting the Wycombe Homeless Connection by making thank you cards to send to their amazing volunteers and this is where you and I come in....

The challenge is for Stampin’ Up! to make 400 thank you cards to be send to Head Office by the 14th May.

Cards need to

  • fit in a standard C6 envelope
  • Be made exclusively with Stampin’ Up! Product
  • Feature a thank you sentiment
If you would like to take part feel free to send your cards to me to include in my parcel of thank you cards or straight to Head Office (address below). I will be posting my thank you cards on Saturday 11th May.

Here’s a sample of some of the thank you cards that I have made already to send off.....

I have used Whisper White Notecards for the four cards below and some scraps of Gala Gingham DSP along with so,e stamping, colouring and punched elements. I find the trick for creating lots of cards is to keep the design simple, but simple doesn’t have to mean boring!

You can see how I put these cards together over on Facebook by clicking here

The birds and thank you sentiment comes from the new Free as a Bird Stamp Set that is available for, 4th June. I have stamped the bird onto the cardbase and added the DSP so it covers the main bird leaving the feet sticking out from underneath. I have then stamped the bird again onto another piece of Whisper White Cardstock and coloured in with Stampin’ Blends.  I have used Light and Dark shades of Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie & Cajun Craze. Once happy with the colouring, I have cut the bird out using my Paper Snips, leaving a small border of white but cut off the feet! I have then stuck to the card using Tombow Glue lining up the feet!

The butterfly card is similar in that I have used scraps of Gala Gingham DSP (this time the big print which is on the other side). I have stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White Cardstock using Ruxedo Black Memento Ink and cut out with the Tailored Tag Punch. The butterfly comes from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and has been coloured with the same Stampin’ Blends colours as the bird from the other two cards above. I  it out using the Butterfly Duet Punch

The design of the four cards below have used the same sentiment as above but I have used retired card bases and DSP.

I have used the following products to put this card together:
