Inspire Create Challenge #043 - Colour Challenge

Hi all,

I hope your week has started well for you!  Week 3 of the month is always one of my most favourite weeks as I have Coffee and Card plus my Monthly Card Class so lots of crafty fun for me!

Today I am entering the Inspire Create Stamping Challenge which is a great way to get the brain working and do something that you might not perhaps have thought about doing.  Challenge #043 is a Colour Challenge and they are definitely not colours I would have put together but they actually work so well together!
No photo description available.

The card that I have used to enter this challenge is also one of my cards that my ladies will be making in my monthly card class tonight.  I have used the Floating Frame technique which is really popular online right now and I can't wait to demonstrate this tonight!

I have kept it really simple as I wanted the colours from the challenge to do the work for me.  I have stamped butterflies from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set in the three colours, and cut out using the Butterfly Duet Punch.

To create the Floating Frame, I have cut out the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies and laid the butterflies onto the circle without sticking them down.  I have then taken a piece of Press N' Seal and laid it over the butterflies.  Carefully, I have cut around the circle with the butterflies attached and removed the circle so that the butterflies are still attached to the Press N' Seal in the circle design.

I have then attached Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to each butterfly and then carefully laid down onto the Basic Black Scallop Circle and then very carefully removed the Press N' Seal so that the butterflies are attached and look like the picture!  I have stuck the scallop circle to the card front using Liquid Multipurpose Glue.

To finish, I have stamped "Happy Birthday" underneath the scallop circle using Tuxedo Black Memento and added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.
For the Card:
  • Thick A4 Whisper White Cardstock - measuring 10.5cm x 29.8cm, scored at 14.9cm and folded in half
  • 2 pieces of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 10cm x 14.4cm, 1 to attach to the front of the card, and 1 to attach inside the card.

I have used the following products and tools to put this project together:
