It's always nice to be asked to make a card for someone, even if it's a sympathy card. It's nice to know that my card will let someone know that they are in someone's thoughts .
Today's card is for just that reason. I like to keep this cards simple and neutral, it doesn't feel right to include lots of colour and embellishments.
For this card, I have used the Peaceful Reflection Stamp Set which is new for 2018. For me, it's one of those stamp sets that when I first see it, I don't "see" what it's all about but after a little play, I think it's a really useful one.
I have used Crumb cake and Whisper White for the main colours here, and added a touch of Blueberry Bushell and Balmy Blue for the dragonfly. He' is a two-step stamped image where you start by stamping the outline stamp, and then use another stamp to in-fill the colour. This is a great technique if you're not a fan of colouring, and it's quick too!
For the background, you will see the speckled dots. This is one of my most favourite techniques for breaking up a background. Take an aqua painter, make sure that the brush is full of water, add some ink and then tap across the background to "splash" the ink on.
