Hi all,

Hope you're all have a good week.  Here is the final card that we made at my monthly card class featuring the Spirited Snowmen.

Starting with a standard size and folded card, I decorated the front with a strip of Shaded Spruce Cardstock, a square of Merry Merlot Glimmer Paper, and a snowman that has been coloured in and raised with Stampin' Dimensionals.  For added decoration I have added a few shapes of cardstock and glimmer paper that have been cut from the Sprigg Punch and a little sentiment.  Nice and simple...because the fun is all on the inside of this card!

On the inside of this card is a fancy fold with more snowmen!  To create this feature, I have cut a strip of Shaded Spruce Cardstock, scored at 14.9cm (the middle) and 7.4cm from either end to give you the 4 sections.  Attach the strip to the card base by sticking the far left and right sections so that the middle point sticks out.

Each square has been decorated with a selection of images from the two stamp sets that we used, and it gives a great surprise for the recipient!

Thanks so much for reading, it's great to be able to share these cards with you.  If you are local and fancy giving a card class a go then my next one is on the 20th November and will feature some 3D papercrafting as well.  Booking is essential.

OCTOBER CARD CLASS WITH SNOWMEN IN A WINTERY SCENE

in , , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, October 17, 2018
Hi all,

Well last night I had my October Card Class which was so much fun!  We spent the evening surrounded by Snowmen and Christmas Cheer!

Yesterdays' post showed you the first of the three cards that we made so today's is showing you the 2nd card (and my personal favourite of the set!)

This card has been created with a simple card base and a single layer of cardstock added.  To create the wintery scene, I have added ink to the top section of the card using a Sponge Brayer and some torn printing paper.  This is a great technique for creating layers of colour and I think it looks like the trees are standing on different layers of ground.  The trees come from the Timeless Tidings Stamp Set and I have stamped in both first and second generation ink.

The Snowmen have been stamped onto the background and onto a seperate pice of Very Vanilla Cardstock. I have coloured them with Stampin Blends, and after cutting out, I have distressed the edges using a Sponge Dauber and Crumb Cake Ink.  I have attached the snowmen to the image that I have stamped onto the background to give the raised look.  I think this makes the snowmen stand out more.

To finish, I have distressed the edge of the cardstock and tied a bow of Braided Linen Trim.  Underneath, I have added two pieces of Copper Glimmer Paper that I have cut using the Sprigg Punch.  So looking forward to getting together with everyone who has booked, it should be lots of fun! Come back tomorrow and Thursday to see the other cards in their full glory! You could add any sentiment of your choice but I have chosen the one from the stamp set.

What do you think?

Hi all,

Tonight is the night of my October Card Class, a class where we will be using the cheeky little snowmen from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set.  I fell in love with this stamp set and so I had to base a class around it.  As a treat I am showing one of the cards this morning in advance!

I have kept the colour scheme really simple here with shades of Shaded Spruce and Tranquil Tide.  These colours are really similar so the glimmer paper looks really pretty alongside the tones of Shaded Spruce.

I have embossed the top layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and attached it so that the de-bossed side is on top.

I have stamped the Buffalo Check Stamp onto a circle of Very Vanilla Cardstock that has been cut out using the 2.5" Circle Punch.

To create the snowflakes of Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper, I have used the Blizzard Thinlits Die.

This card measures 10.5cm x A4 Length, scored at 14.9cm and folded in half.

PRODUCTS USED:
- Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set
- Timeless Textures Stamp Set
- Buffalo Check Stamp Set
- Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP158 SKETCH CHALLENGE

in , , , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, October 07, 2018
Hi all,

I've neglected the Global Design Project Challenge for a few weeks now but this week I have found the time to enter, hooray!

This week is a sketch challenge which means that the site provides a sketch of a card, along with some examples, and it is down to you to create something that fits with the sketch!  I always enjoy these as it's always interpreted differently and it's great to see how some people really do think outside the box!  I have included the sketch image below for you to compare!

This card is a standard C6 card, and I have used the Whisper White Shimmer Cardstock for the base layer.  I find this cardstock a little more porus for watercolouring and adding ink.

I have used a sheet of regular paper that I have cut 3 circles out using a 2" punch and a 3, 3/8" punch in a strip.  I have then used that sheet as a mask and using a sponge brayer to add the ink.

I have used the Dashing Deer Thinlits to die-cut the reindeer out using Gold Glimmer Paper and before attaching to the card, I have tied some Linen Thread around the card and secured with a big bow.  I always enjoy a rustic looking christmas card and the linen thread is a great addition.

"Merry" is from the Festive Farmhouse Elements set and these are wooden sentiments that you can colour with Stampin' Blends.  The sentiment comes from the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Set.

What do you think?

FULL PRODUCT LIST

  • Gray Granite Cardstock
  • Shimmer Whisper White Cardstock

  • Gold Glimmer Card

NEW HOME BOX CARD

in , , , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, October 06, 2018
Hi all,

Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far.  It's raining heavily here this afternoon but it's nice to be tucked up in the warm of my craft room enjoying World Card Making Day!

Today's card is something I have put together after having a play with the Pop on By Stamp Set that you saw in my last post.

It really is lots of fun, and it's nice to spend more time putting a card together than the quick ones I seem to have gotten into the habit of making recently.   Unfortunately it's really difficult to photograph so I have taken a few!
This card measures 4" square, and although it is a box card, it can be folded flat for posting!  I have cut a piece of cardstock that is 4" x 10.5".  I have then scored along the longest edge at at 4", 5",  9", 10".  For the aperture, I have used the largest square die from the Layering Circles set.   The important thing is to not put together the box until the card has been fully decorated.

The idea behind this one is that the internal background of the card is used to create the scene behind the house.  (I should have taken a photo mid-way through this card so you can see the effect better!)
I have created the grass and sky using sponge rollers and ink.  The trees have been stamped in regular ink.  For the clouds I have used Embossing Paste and the clouds mask.

For the front, I have stamped the fence image individually a number of times, coloured with Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua Painter, cut out and put together as a long fence.  I have stamped the house image onto Whisper White Cardstock, coloured with a selection of Stampin' Blends, cut out and attached over the fence.

To finish, I have created the Bunting along the top with the Pick a Pennant Stamp Set and some Linen Thread.  The word "Home" comes from the Pop on By Stamp Set.

I would love to read your thoughts on this one so please feel free to leave me a comment.

NEW HOME POP UP CARD

in , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, October 05, 2018
Hi all,

Friday at last...hooray!

At our team training events, there is always a raffle which is well and truly overstocked with amazing prizes!  There were 82 of us at the September event so even though I purchased tickets I did wonder how good a chance of winning I had but hey it's the taking part that counts isn't it!  I was however one of the lucky winners and when it came to choosing from the table of prizes it was so hard to choose!  I decided to choose something that wasn't on my wish list and something a bit different from my usual style.

I chose the Pop on By Stamp Set and Pop Up House Thinlits Bundle.  Pop-up dies aren't usually my go-to products as they can often be quite fiddly but boy did this one not disappoint!  Team training was over two weeks ago and I finally got to play this week!

The stamps are a great size for using on card fronts, and are lovely to colour in with your choice of colouring tool.  For this card, I used a selection of Stampin' Blends Markers.  I have added some extra dimension with the background stamping onto the card base and some trees that I have created with the leaves stamps and cut out.  The window box image coordinates with one of the dies in the set which is handy!

The star of the show is the popup element inside the card.  This is something that is definitely not expected and it's a lovely way to surprise your recipient!  There is a slight giveaway though...the card doesn't actually fold flat ha!

I have cut out several different elements of the house in different coloured cardstock, and added some more detail with the curtains and the flower box. I have added another tree (to hide a glue smudge that I didn't want to show!), and the door even opens too!

The bunting has been stamped onto Whisper White and cut out (there is a die for this however I don't own it!) and is a great addition I think!  Who doesn't love bunting?!!

I really enjoyed making this card, and it definitely won't be the last time that I use this.  I won't lie, this card did take me a while to put together as I took time to cut extra layers out.  Some things are worth the extra effort though!
