DETAILED DRAGONFLY MEETS BLUEBERRY BUSHELL

in , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 30, 2018
Hi all,

Hope you're all recovered from the bank holiday weekend and the horrendous thunderstorms.  We were busy building a conservatory to deal with the ever expanding amount of toys my girls seem to have!

In just 2 days time the brand new 2018-2019 annual catalogue is launched and I have been busy playing with the new in-colours which are a stunning set of brights this year and I just can't get enough of them!

Today I have used Blueberry Bushell which is a deep blue, darker than Pacific Point but not as dark as Night of Navy.  I was a big Dapper Denim fan so I think this is a great replacement and I'm sure you will see it lots over the next 2 years while we have it.

On this card, I have used the lovely Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set which have been around for some time now and will feature in the new catalogue (hooray!).

To create the background circle, I have punched out a 2, 1/2" circle from a scrap piece of paper, laid it over the top of my card base, and using a Sponge Dauber and a Soft Sky Stampin' Pad, lightly added some ink to the apperture.  Before lifting the scrap paper off, I have stamped the dots stamp in Blueberry Bushell ink.  This is a great technique for adding a focal point to any project, and I always think it looks quite clever!  I have also stamped the same dots across the bottom of the cardbase.

I have cut the dragonfly out from Blueberry Bushell Cardstock, and another in Vellum, which has been stuck underneath.

Happy Birthday comes from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set (also carrying over in the new catalogue).  This has been stamped onto a piece of Whisper White carstock in Blueberry Bushell ink, cut into a banner and stuck onto the card.

Thanks for reading.  If you haven't got a copy of the new annual catalogue and you would like one sent to you, please send me your address and I will pop one in the post to you.

Have a great day!

Hi all,

Friday is here at last and I couldn't be happier as next week is half term for me and my girls!  On top of that our conservatory is being delivered this weekend and it's bank holiday weekend, hooray!

This week at Fancy Fold Friday it is a square card with a surprise diamond fold inside.

Not only is this card really fun, it also features the new in-colour DSP range in Lovely Lipstick.  These new colours are so bright and the new ink formula is really nice to use.  If you love our current ink pads then you really will love the new ones so much more!

The in-colour 6" x 6"x DSP stack gives you 4 different patterns in each of the 5 colours and will be available to order from June 1st.

For this card, I have used the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set that will be carrying over into the new annual catalogue, with the coordianting Balloon Bouquet PunchThe sentiment at the bottom comes from the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp Set and has been stamped in Lovely Lipstick to match.

For the front of the card, I have used a few strips of DSP and the Birthday Wishes For You Stamp SetI have coloured the image in using the Lovely Lipstick marker.

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!

ACCENTED BLOOMS STAMP SET #SNEAKPEAK

in , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 24, 2018
Hi all,

The Spring/Summer catalogue featured the Tailored Tag Punch that is carrying over into the new Annual catalogue from next week (hooray!).  Sadly the stamp set that went with it is retiring but have no fear Stampin' Up! are launching a stunning new stamp set to use alongside it and here is a little sneak peak for you all...

Here I have used one of the really useful Notecards that Stampin' Up! offer in packs of 20 for just £5.50 and that includes the envelopes as well.  I have kept it really simple and added a strip of new in-colour DSP along the edge.  What you see coloured in, is actually the main stamped image (coloured with Stampin' Blends of course) which I have cut out (with my scissors) and attached to the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals for some added depth.

I have used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out a shape of Basic Black cardstock which has been added to shape on the stamped image.  Over the top of that I have added the sentiment which has been stamped and punched out again.

I love how this card is really simple yet looks great on the plain background!  Definitely one that is going to fly out of the warehouse!

This set is available to order from 1st June 2018

Have a great day all!

VARIED VASES #SNEAKPEAK

in , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 23, 2018
Hi all,

Hope you're all having a good week so far. I'm finally starting to feel a bit more myself after a lovely dose of tonsillitis followed by a rotten cold and a funny bug! That means I finally got chance to sit down and unpack my new catalogue pre order and have a play.

There is a new stamp set coming called Varied Vases which coordinates with the Vase Builder Punch. This set is going to be very popular as it's so versatile and the sentiments are just gorgeous. It's also a great set to use with a the new Stamparatus Stamping Platform.

The stamp set features different shape vases with various different stamps to fill in the vases. There is also a selection of flowers, leaves and sentiments.

For this card I have kept it really simple with some stamping and watercolouring!

Looking forward to showing you more fun ways of using this set of products!

New catalogues are also now available to you. Please send me a message with your name and address if you would one posted to you, free of charge of course!

ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD TREAT HOLDER

in , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 21, 2018
Hi all,

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. We had lots of fun watching the royal wedding in the sunshine and enjoyed a BBQ or two!

Today I am sharing with you a great holder that I put together for the ladies that attended my card class last week. I always enjoy putting a little gift together to say thankyou for coming and this time it was for some yummy biscuits!

The Envelope Punch Board is one of my most used crafting tools and it's for more than just envelopes although the basis of this holder is an envelope with the top part cut off!

To decorate I have used a strip of DSP secured around, a strip of ribbon folded over and a punched circle. I have stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out the odd shaped shape with my scissors. Nice and simple!

Have a great day all!

FANCY FOLD FRIDAY #FFF5 FOLD BACK CARD

in , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 18, 2018
Hi all,

I hope you've all had a good week. Mine has been alot more restful than recent weeks so I'm hoping to shift this cold and tonsillitis I've been suffering soon!

Friday brings about my Fancy Fold feature and this week I even held my first Fancy Fold class! It was lots of fun and my ladies all went home with 3 completed cards to share with friends!

This card is made from a strip of cardstock that is 7.5" long and has just 2 scores and then the card is folded in different directions. The diamond shape on the front is an added set of layered cardstock and DSP.

Sadly these papers and the stamp set I have used is only available until the end of May but the punch I have used remains, hooray!!

Check out the photos of all the cards we made in my Famcy Gold Class on my Facebook Page!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all,

This week over at the Global Design Project the week is themed around a "Sketch Challenge".  This basically means that you are given a card sketch with a few samples made by the Team and it is down to each participant to come up with their take on it!

For my take on this card, I have used a stamp set that is really popular with Stampin' Up! demonstrators called Crafting Forever.  It is made up of a great set of stamps and sentiments that are perfect for any crafter and also has the Stampin' Up! Copyright stamp which is a must for anyone wanting to sell on their Stampin' Up! makes etc.

This card was really straightforward to make, with a bit of stamping straight onto the card base with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and coloured in with a number of Stampin' Blends pens.

I have added a white banner over my stamped/coloured images, and stamped the sentiment "Do Something Creative Everyday".  I have punched out a strip of Basic Black Cardstock using the Ribbon Border Punch and secured underneath the white strip before attaching to the card base. The tag has been added with some Silver Metallic Thread tied around and I have hand-drawn a thin black line along the top and bottom edge of the strip across.

Crafting Forever Clear Mount Stamp Set - 143958, £18.00

Looking forward to seeing other people's entries this week!  Have you ever thought about having a go?

Have a great day all!

SUNSHINE WISHES STENCIL

in , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 15, 2018
Hi all,

Tuesday here today and a nice simple stamped Birthday Card is what I have for you.

When I first started card making, I thought I had to add everything for it to be "good enough to send"...ribbons, buttons, embellishments, die cuts, sentiments, stamping, punched elements and more but as I have become a more confident and relaxed crafter I've come to realise this isn't always the case.  Yes cards with lots of added extras are still lovely but actually sometimes less is definitely more!

I have used the large flower die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, and using a Sponge Dauber, I have lightly added some Pool Party ink to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

At the bottom of the card, I have stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink and to finish, I have splashed some Old Olive ink across the card using an Aqua Painter.

I you would like to order any of these products that I have used to make this card, or would like to join me for a card class I would love to hear from you!

Have a great day all!

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD CARD

in , , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 14, 2018
Hi all,

Hope you all had a smashing weekend! As always mine was jam packed, this weekend with Kayaking, BBQ's, dancing, family, friends, a birthday party and of course lots of fun.

Today I am sharing with you a card that I put together using the Envelope Punch Board.  If you don't own one of these or never seen one in action, it is a great tool for making custom size envelopes and so much more.  Have a quick search on Pinterest and you will find some fantastic project samples and it really is so straight forward to use!  Mine is always on my craft desk now!

Now this isn't a card that is designed to stand on a shelf, more of a note card to send someone.  Inside the envelope you will find a 4" x 5" card that pulls out (you could make it a card that opens but we'll save that for another day maybe!).   The great thing about the Envelope Punch Board is you only need to know the size of your card to cover, and all the other measurements are given to you so it's just a matter of scoring and punching followed by a bit of folding!

I have added a smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock to the card, and a bit of stamping.  Here I have used the Tabs for Everything Stamp Set with the coordinating Circle Tab Punch to create the tab on the top.
To decorate the envelope (because it would look pretty boring without it!), I have used some Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock to create a belly-band, followed by a 2" strip of DSP that I have punched at either end with the Scalloped Tag Topper PunchThis has been secured with a bit of silver ribbon.

The decoration on the edge has been created with a selection of dies from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits in Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist.  Underneath I have swirled some Silver Mini Sequin Trim to add some shine and the tiles have been stamped with a sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set.

What do you think?

Have a great day!

SENDING LOVE AND HUGS

in , , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 13, 2018
Hi all,

Today's card is usually one of my favourite colour combinations, grey and pink!

It's a simple Notecard with a few different techniques and products used.

Starting off, I have used the Decorative Ribbon Border Punchwith some Basic Grey cardstock, tucked under the top of the white so you can only see the small scallop and then attached at the bottom to reveal the whole shape.

For the main front of the card, I have used an Aqua Painter and Powder Pink ink to createca wash of colour that you can see behind the flower. Continuing with the Aqua Painter, I have spashed some dots of Smoky Slate ink across the card.

I have then stamped the flower stem and petals (from the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set) in Smoky Slate.  The flower head has been die cut from the Eclectic Layers Thinlit Dies set. I have cut the base out of Powder Pink and then used the detailed die cut out in Basic Grey. This element has been attached only in the middle so it looks raised.

The sentiment also comes from theSunshine Sayings Stamp Set. I have cut out the individual words to creAte the tiles and attached to the card using Dimensionals for added depth!

Thanks for reading, I hope you all have a great weekend!

BYE BYE LARGE NUMBER FRAMELITS

in , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 12, 2018
Hi all,

This is the time of the year that demonstrators have mixed emotions, excitement for new product coming in the next Annual Catalogue and sad because some much loved product will be retired and no longer available to purchase.

For me, the product that I am most sad about losing is the Large Numbers Framelit Dies and the Number of Years Stamp SetI use these products regularly for number cards, and anything else that features numbers.  I will continue to use these but i'm also intrigued about what's coming in the future offering to make up for this loss!

I have made this card using Whisper White and Pacific Point colour combination.  For the central part, I have stamped the number 9 diagonally across the card, and added a number 9 in the matching DSP to the background.

"Happy Birthday" comes from the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set and has been stamped in Basic Black ink.

The number dies and stamps will not feature in the next catalogue, so if they're on your wish list, you might want to purchase them sooner rather than later as when stocks are gone, they're gone forever!

Can you guess how old the recipient is for this birthday card?

FANCY FOLD FRIDAY #FFF4 - DIAGONAL OPENING CARD

in , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 11, 2018
Hi all,

Today's feature is all about a non-traditional folded card and today is all about the diagonal opening card.

To make this card, you will need a sheet of A4 cardstock, I have used Pool Party for this example.

Score along the short edge at 10.5cm, and 14.8cm along the long edge, then cut in half from the top left corner, to the bottom right.  The card then folds with the diagonal opening as shown.

I have used the Bubble Over Bundle, which is made up of the Bottles and Bubbles Framelits Dies and the Bubble Over Stamp Set.

I have used DSP from a set of papers from the recent Sale-a-Bration promotion, and "Celebrate" comes from the Celebrate You Thinlits that will be available to buy in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue which launches in June.

Thanks for reading, tune in next week for another Fancy Fold Friday!

Hi all,

It's been a few weeks since I last took part in The Global Design Project blog challenge but I have taken part in this weeks' Colour Challenge week and it's a good one!

The Colour Challenge week is always a really interesting one as usually they give colour combinations that you wouldn't usually consider, however this week is right up my street!

I love a bright colour combination and anything with Lemon Lime Twist is just gorgeous!

To make my card, I have used an Aqua Painter to add a strip of all colours to Watercolour PaperThis is a great technique to add block colour to plain cardstock.

For the sentiment, I have used the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. I have stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White and cut each word out and added to the card using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Sunburst comes from the Tabs for Everything Stamp Set

Looking forward to seeing all the entries before the challenge closes on Sunday!

STATEMENT OF THE STAMPIN' UP! HEART!

in , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 09, 2018
Hi all,

I hope you're all enjoying the gorgeous sunshine, it's made such a lovely change to the rain we have had!

Today I am sharing with you a home decor item that I have made using a photo frame and some of the new products in the forthcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.

At the heart of Stampin' Up! is this lovely statement which describes the reason that the company exists and why people continue to be part of such a wonderful organisation.

I know a few of you know my reason for joining Stampin' Up! but my reason for staying is definitely what this statement is all about.  I love crafting, on my own and with friends, sending someone a handmade card or item to celebrate a special occasion or just to bring a bit of happiness in their life.

Demonstrators have been asking for a while now to have this statement available for us to use in our crafting and they have produced a stamp set for us and customers to use and it is available to order from 1st June this year.

This frame also features one of the new in-colours called Lovely Lipstick.  It is a really vibrant pinky/red colour.  I have chosen to use this colour as it coordinates beautifully with the hearts, plus it is my favourite of the new 5 in-colours.

I am excited to display this frame in my craft room, and maybe share it with a few special crafting friends.

PAINTED HARVEST

in , , , , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 07, 2018
Hi all,

I hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday weekend. We are loving the sunshine her at the manor and I've even managed to squeeze some crafting time in, hooray!

Today's card is using a very popular stamp set called Painted Harvest. This is a two-step stamp set meaning that you use the same colour ink to stamp the image with two different stamps.

To stamp the background I have attempted the flowers in Melon Mambo ink for the brighter flower and Blushing Bride for the lighter ones. For the centres I have used Night of Navy. To get the muted effect I have inked up the stamp, stamped onto a scrap piece of paper and then stamped onto my card base without re-inking the stamp.

To finish, I have added the sentiment and since ribbon some added texture. I think this card would look great in any colour combination but I especially love pink and navy together!

Have a great bank holiday Monday

CELEBRATE!

in , , , , , by Stacey Marsh Independent UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, May 05, 2018
Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of posts from me this week, it's been one of those weeks that I'm glad to see the back of!

This week over on one of my demonstrator sites we were set a sketch challenge. Sketches are a great starting point for any card if you're feeling a bit uninspired or creatively challenged so this was perfect for me this week!

I must admit that the Bottles and Bubbles set has been in my stash for a little while now and everytime I get it out to use I think for awhile and then it goes back on the shelf. It's not that I don't love it but it's really different from they style of things that I use but I'm persevering with it and I actually do love this card!

I think it's great for a male as I know those are the cards we typically struggle to create and now I've created something I like I'm sure it won't be the last you see of it!

If you get time why don't you give it a go?

Have a great weekend!
